Only one show and Gale is getting some press.

Homophobe.
'success....'; 'atones', huh? Peeved much? But peering behind his homophobic surface (the one the writer couldn't keep from conveying), there's an idea: that GH wounded his career with the role choice. And the path to success lies with conformance, to the majority persuasion . That's likely true - or true enough, if only because the majority got the bigger bucks. Reverting to the surface, fun to see a homophobe, still galled to bits by his own hatred, brandishing this runner-up of a triumph, as though the opposite cause hadn't scored a win. Big one. |

He made it in US Weekly this week too under the "Fall TV's Hot New Couples". A photo of him in bed with Susan titled "Hatcher &
Harold". No mention of QAF.

"fergit"!
The ep AND Gale's role? |

I thought this episode was fun. (Gale's bits, the other characters truly don't interest me.) Gale does a good job with this role. I've always
thought he had a flair for comedy, not getting much chance in QAF to display that skill. He also seems to be enjoying playing the character of Jackson. And
(despite the long hair), he looks pretty damn fine, also.

Just Gale's pronunciation of the word. Forget = Fergit |

TV Guide gives a grade A to Desperate Housewives' jump into the future:
"matronly Gaby.....the addition of boyish Gale Harold (as Jackson, Susan's lovesick swain)...Neal McDonough.....make Wisteria Lane once again an irresistible place to visit." : |

That sounds like a ringing endorsement for S5, contrasted to earlier. And (whether brought to sharper focus by your ... elision, or by an emphasis of the
article itself), seems to be attributed to Gale, if not a ringing squee about his main hand in the S5 upping. Is TV Guide then an opinion-shaper?

Gale update | ||

From tvtattle.com:
http://jam.canoe.ca/Telev...008/10/24/7190536-ap.html Looks like Gale continues to make good progress. What great news. I wonder if we've seen the last of him on Desperate Housewives for this season after we see the shows with the scenes he'd already shot before the accident. I hope he's able to get back to work on the show before it wraps for the season, but I guess we should just be glad he survived to make a full recovery. The whole Brian vs Jackson Thing... | ||
|
Flib I sort of agree with what you said about really being in love with Brian and not so much with Gale. I still find myself wondering what Brian is up to.
I've always been madly in love with Brian Kinney. But, I wouldn't mind having a painter like Jackson come over and help me paint the town red. I'm
saddened by Gale's accident, and hope it to be nothing but a bump in the road of a promising career move. He always struck me as someone who could pull
off comedy. He is good at being goofy. We are so used to him playing a plethera a deep dark and seriously maladjusted characters, seeing Jackson makes you
pause and almost giggle. I long to run my fingers through that strange hairstyle and move those locks where they belong. tee hee hee...
Hello Philflam It's wonderful to reconnect with friends again. I think it was JV who said it's all good...Jackson, Brian...It's wonderful having something to look forward to on Sunday night once again! |

Just cannot stomach him in that "wimpy" role! YUK!!!!!

Still that bad, eh? Well, if the role's a wide step away, so's the show. From which POV, Gale's coming right up with the goods it wants (and if
it's anything but the sort of revolutionary effort wants to burn down the status quo, he can't help that).
Reminds me I should look up a download, if one's going - share in the shock. Thanks for the tip. |

The important thing at this point is that Gale is proving he can go back to work. There have been a lot of rumors and he needed to show he's in one piece.
I think it's very good of Marc Cherry, who clearly likes Gale, to have him back to tie up the story lines and give him some screen time, after his accident
screwed up their plans for the season.

Have to ask, does anyone know the issue number of Gale's return-episode (eg S6 E5)?
Hunting blind for that particular ep will be very download-costly. Sorta, find a (but which?) needle in a (but which?) haystack. Much better to shoot for a definite target. |

Sorry, I've been out of touch. Gale's return was in 5.21 (season 5, epi 21) and the finale was 5.23 (a two-parter). I haven't seen the finale yet,
but in 5.21 and 5.22 he did a perfectly competent acting job, such as the show is, but looked haggard to me. (Yes, there is such a thing as too thin.) You can
most likely just YouTube his appearances, unless you want the full episodes in context.

Could be he's returned before he should ideally, on account of schedule pressure that's outside anyone's control, like graceful season-wrap. Think,
that was a damn long layoff, which'd have maimed the intended season's development already, and exacerbated the pressure against graceful wrap. Plus
largely failed to condition him for a normal pace of life, that is, condittioned him pretty much as an invalid. If so, that's a gallant effort of will on
his part that can't lessen esteem for him. The opposite seen rightly.
Anyway, thanks for the details, they'll help. I'll see what I can find. |
